    In 2009, Torphins Flower Show is 100 Years old. When first held in 1909, it was only for the professional gardeners from the local estates. Today, everyone can take part, with sections not only for plants, flowers and produce, but painting, photography and Floral Art.

    A childrens section with three age ranges has also been included in the industrial section of the exhibitors.

    This years Torphins Horticultural and industrial Society show on 22nd August,and as normal, was held in the Learney Hall, declared opened by local resident and Aberdeenshire councillor, Mrs. Rosemary Bruce. There was a very large exhibitor entry over all catagories.
