Torphins Gala Day Plans 2010

This years gala was on Saturday 21st Aug 2010, in Torphins park.

Another successful event and day for all. The weather was fine, if a little windy, but the sunshine and the fresh breeze provided a cooling wind for those taking part in the activities.

With Wellie boot football and the Well barrow games, Bouncy Castles, Stalls, Ferrets, Beer Tent, It’s a Knockout Gala Games with Mixed teams, obstacle course, water games and Tug-O-War.. Starting with the parade from the Learney Hall , with Pipe band and Fire engine carrying the Gala Prince and Princess, all on a theme of the South African World Cup parade with Football and animal fancy dress.

The Deeside Young Heavies put in an appearance with a display of Highland game events.

The Pet Parade was well supported withn over a dozen entrants for Waggiest tail, Most Appealing eyes, best condition, Judge wants to take home, Show a trick and Fancy Dress.

Local Businesses supported with Station Garage and others. And thanks to the many Volunteers who worked tirelessly all day and evening to set-up, run, and generally oversee the days events, including the Praise in the Park on Sunday morning.
