Local Plan Development

In late 2008, Aberdeenshire council requested local councils to submit local land development proposals to accommodate new housing and areas for the 2010 planning round.

These proposals were returned to Aberdeenshire council late 2008/early 2009.

Many proposals are speculative and the development of any proposal depends on many factors other than the simple availability of the land.

As part of this process the public were required to comment until 6 July, and a series of meetings and consultations was part of the process.

Torphins Final LDP Map
The map shows the original areas submitted by landowners and developers for new housing and retail developments in Torphins. Decisions have now been made on these issues.

The range and size of developments will have a bearing on the future appearance and the character of the Village.
