Torphins Primary School has well established links with the wider community and benefits from the
ongoing support and encouragement so generously given.
The School roll, including the Nursery, is generally in the region of 200 pupils. it currently has two
Nursery Groups and 8 Primary classes.

Sports Day 20th May 2009 |
This year's sports day was a great success. Weather was changeable, but bright, and held of the worst of
the weather to allow races to take place.
But sadly it will be the last as Headmistress for Mrs. Reid, who will retire this year, and also Mrs.
Black, organiser of the sports day for the last 13 years, who will be leaving the school also.
With an early start of 5:30 am to check the weather, Mrs. Black started the day. Mrs Reid, also setting
out before 6 am from Aberdeen to arrive in Torphins and allow the preparations in the Torphins Park.
Together with other school staff, they hurried to set out the sports day facilities from 7:30
am onwards, with the body of the school roll marching ceremoniously from the school to the park at 9:30
am.
Races includes flat, sack and skipping heats. There was even a Staff race and Mothers/ Ladies
race. |
