NOMINATIONS NEEDED FOLLOWING TORPHINS AGM

The 30th Annual General Meeting of Torphins Community Council was held in the Small Learney Hall on 4th February 2010.

Torphins Community Council has during the past year been committed to driving through improvements to the village and many issues have been addressed.

The Chairman's Report gave particular mention to the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan and to the active role played by the residents of Torphins and the Community Council in making responses to the Main Issues Report. The residents of Torphins await with great interest the production of the draft LDP in the spring of this year.

The Treasurer presented his annual financial report and at the end of 2009 there was a credit balance in the account of £ 1,197.53.

On the matter of formal business, it was noted that four members were due, under rota, to retire and one other member has since intimated their resignation. This means that there are now five vacancies on the Community Council and the residents of Torphins, Glassel and Tornaveen are invited to put their names forward to fill these vacancies. In the event of there being more than five nominations an election will be held.

Nomination forms are available from Torphins Post Office or download a TCC nomination form.
